360°access audit

THE TREASURE CHEST

I know—committing to improving our accessibility practices can feel like opening Pandora’s Box. It’s a step into the unknown, and that can be intimidating.

But here’s what brings me joy: the moment my clients realize it’s not a scary box of horrors, but a treasure chest. Accessibility, when approached with care, brings joy, delight, and lightness to everyone involved.

When you work with me, accessibility becomes a lens through which you see everything. It’s no longer an isolated or abstract concept. You’ll feel re-energized about your work, your organization, and the impact you make. Done well, improving accessibility isn’t just a necessity—it’s a gift.

The 360° Access Audit is the first step of the journey.

here'showwe'll work together

The Accessibility Audit offers a holistic view of your organization, covering your people, digital presence, and beyond. Using my six-step framework, we’ll uncover opportunities for meaningful improvements and craft an action plan that aligns with your goals.

  • Current Landscape

We’ll begin by assessing your current position—exploring your strategy, identifying challenges, and uncovering opportunities. Together, we’ll map various aspects of your organization, from digital platforms to in-person experiences, to gain a clear, comprehensive view of our focus throughout the process.

  • DEI Goals

In this step, we'll review your current DEI goals—whether they focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, accessibility, or belonging—and assess their relevance. We'll explore whether these goals truly reflect your organization's values and the needs of your people, or if they need to be redefined to drive more meaningful impact.

  • Inventory/Assets audit

Next, we’ll conduct a thorough review of your current resources, policies, and practices. This includes everything from digital assets and tools to physical spaces, training materials, and existing policies. We’ll assess how well these align with your DEI goals and organizational values.

  • Audience

The next step is to focus on your audience. We'll examine who interacts with your organization—whether they’re staff, stakeholders, or the public—across various touchpoints such as your services, events, and physical or digital spaces.

  • Resource evaluation

Next, we’ll assess your available resources—financial, human, and stakeholder-related. Understanding these is key to ensuring that your accessibility strategy is both practical and sustainable, aligning with what you have at your disposal.

  • Recommendations

Finally, I’ll provide holistic recommendations based on everything we’ve explored together, identifying opportunities and actionable next steps to re-humanize your organization’s infrastructure.

what you get: insight

Often, organizations that are deeply committed to their core values find that these values aren’t always reflected in their practices—especially when it comes to accessibility. From this audit, you’ll receive actionable insights on how to breathe new life into your core values, ensuring they are truly reflected in your policies and actions. This way, your values aren’t just known—they’re felt and experienced by everyone, across the board.

q&a

I anticipate you might have some questions.
Below are answers to some of the most common ones, but feel free to reach out for more details.

Typically, the 360° Accessibility Audit takes around twelve weeks to complete. The audit itself takes 30 days and then we complete a small piece of work and measure success for the next 60 days. The exact time commitment will vary depending on the size and structure of your organization. Generally, project leads from your team will need to commit about 5 hours per week for collaboration, feedback, and implementing initial actions. The more engaged your team is, the smoother the process is likely to be.
